Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Provide telephone triage services to patients seeking medical advice or emergency care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation of all patient interactions
- Educate patients on self-care measures and appropriate follow-up procedures
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions using clinical judgment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in high-stress environments
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (MSN preferred)
