Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, telehealth, and in-person triage using clinical judgment protocols
- Accurately prioritize patient cases based on urgency and medical necessity
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care pathways
- Document patient encounters comprehensively in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear patient education on home care, medication instructions, and follow-up protocols
- Manage high call volumes efficiently while maintaining exceptional service standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with ER/urgent care or telehealth preferred
- BLS certification; ACLS/PALS strongly preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EPIC, Cerner, or similar)
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and in high-pressure situations
- Experience with triage protocols (e.g., ESI, Manchester Triage Scale)
- Valid DEA certification for controlled substance prescriptions
