Responsibilities
- Assess patients using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to determine priority of care
- Make rapid clinical judgments for trauma, cardiac, and pediatric emergencies
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on patient disposition
- Document assessments and interventions in Epic EMR with 100% accuracy
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and Florida Board of Nursing standards
- Provide education to patients and families on emergency protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Florida (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years ED or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in ESI triage methodology
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Spanish bilingual certification a plus
- BSN degree or higher strongly preferred
