As a key member of our Emergency Department, you'll triage patients with varying acuity levels, prioritize care based on medical urgency, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely interventions. Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to determine urgency and priority level
- Make critical triage decisions using standardized protocols and clinical judgment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Document assessments and care plans accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to coordinate patient flow through the ED
- Provide emergency medical instructions to patients via phone triage
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current California RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (must maintain)
- Strong assessment skills with ability to prioritize complex cases
- Excellent communication and de-escalation techniques
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
