Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Coordinate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient treatment pathways
- Utilize advanced clinical judgment to identify life-threatening conditions and initiate immediate interventions
- Document comprehensive patient encounters in Epic EHR systems with precision and timeliness
- Mentor junior nursing staff and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in disaster preparedness drills and maintain compliance with JCAHO standards
- Collaborate with case management to optimize patient flow and reduce wait times
Qualifications
- Current California RN license with active BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or critical care experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher required, MSN preferred
- Advanced certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) or Trauma Nursing (TCRN)
- Expertise in rapid assessment protocols and differential diagnosis techniques
- Proven ability to maintain composure during high-pressure situations
- Strong proficiency in Epic EHR systems and telehealth technologies
- Demonstrated leadership experience in multidisciplinary healthcare settings
