Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using standardized triage protocols (ESI, ATP) to determine acuity level
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Collaborate with physicians to facilitate appropriate patient placement
- Provide health education and discharge instructions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and emergency department policies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina RN license (or compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BSN degree or higher (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
