Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize emergency department care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient care pathways
- Document clinical findings accurately in Epic EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide compassionate patient education regarding emergency protocols and discharge instructions
- Oversee bed management and coordinate patient flow throughout the ED
- Mentor junior staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana RN license with 3+ years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN preferred; ADN candidates with relevant experience considered
- Demonstrated proficiency in rapid assessment and critical decision-making
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
- Experience with Epic EMR systems preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
