Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid and comprehensive patient assessments to determine the acuity of medical needs.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize patient flow and allocate resources efficiently.
- Document patient histories, symptoms, and triage levels accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide patient education and guidance on self-care and follow-up appointments.
- Ensure strict adherence to hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor patient outcomes and escalate critical issues to physicians immediately.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing or triage is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
