Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize emergency cases based on acuity level
- Provide accurate telephone triage for incoming patient calls
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Monitor patient vital signs and interpret diagnostic results
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up procedures
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
