Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone or in-person to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Utilize provided medical equipment to perform accurate diagnostic evaluations and monitoring.
- Prioritize patient care based on severity, ensuring critical cases are seen immediately.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and specialists to coordinate referrals and treatment plans.
- Document patient interactions and medical histories accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide health education to patients and families regarding symptoms, medication, and preventative care.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in triage or emergency nursing.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use computerized medical systems and provided equipment proficiently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
