Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Utilize provided medical equipment to conduct thorough telephone and virtual triage assessments to determine the urgency of patient needs.
- Protocol Adherence: Apply clinical guidelines and protocols to recommend appropriate care levels, including self-care advice, office visits, or emergency services.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, real-time electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient interactions, symptoms, and triage decisions.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, primary care physicians, and specialists to ensure continuity of care.
- Education: Educate patients on symptom management and preventative health strategies using provided educational resources.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications
- License: Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a triage, urgent care, or emergency department setting.
- Equipment Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn and operate new medical technologies and diagnostic tools.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; TNCC or CEN preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical software.
