Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone triage assessments to determine the urgency of patient needs and recommend appropriate medical care.
- Provide expert clinical guidance, symptom management advice, and treatment plans to patients over the phone.
- Evaluate patient history and current symptoms to distinguish between urgent, emergent, and non-emergent situations.
- Document all triage encounters, patient interactions, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure continuity of care and resolve complex patient issues.
- Provide patient education and resources to promote self-care and prevent future health complications.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting, with specific experience in triage or telehealth preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Proficient in using computer systems and electronic health records.
