Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments: Evaluate symptoms via phone or secure video to determine the urgency of care.
- Medical Decision Making: Recommend appropriate treatment plans, home remedies, or referrals to specialists/ER based on clinical guidelines.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on medication management, disease prevention, and follow-up care instructions.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document all interactions, assessments, and care plans into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, on-call providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to strict telehealth protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Active RN License: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Minnesota (or compact state eligibility).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in emergency medicine, urgent care, or telehealth triage.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required; TNCC or CEN preferred.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and empathetically.
- Computer Proficiency: Comfortable navigating EMR systems and video conferencing technology.
- Stress Tolerance: Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
