Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for rapid patient disposition
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with precise documentation
- Provide critical patient education and discharge instructions
- Oversee triage station operations during high-volume periods
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
- Train new staff on triage procedures and emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Louisiana with minimum 3 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
- Expertise in ESI triage scale and emergency assessment
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to maintain composure during high-stress situations
- EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
- BSN or higher degree preferred
