Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone triage assessment of patient symptoms and medical history.
- Provide expert clinical guidance, appropriate health education, and appropriate resource referrals.
- Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Screen incoming patient inquiries and prioritize urgent cases for immediate attention.
- Stay current with clinical protocols, evidence-based practice guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage call volume efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient satisfaction scores.
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alaska.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a primary care, urgent care, or triage setting.
- Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSN) or WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing) is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
- Proficient in computer systems and electronic documentation.
