Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive initial patient assessments to determine the severity of medical conditions.
- Utilize evidence-based protocols to prioritize patient care and direct appropriate treatment pathways.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and physicians to facilitate seamless care transitions.
- Document patient interactions and triage findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Manage high-volume incoming calls and triage requests with efficiency and empathy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
- Provide education and resources to patients regarding their health conditions and next steps.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in emergency nursing or triage.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a plus but not required.
