As a Triage Nurse, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking medical advice, playing a crucial role in ensuring the right level of care is delivered efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Perform Initial Assessments: Evaluate incoming patient calls and symptoms to determine the urgency of medical care required.
- Direct Patient Flow: Route patients to the appropriate medical department, urgent care, or emergency room based on triage protocols.
- Document Interactions: Accurately and timely record patient history, symptoms, and care instructions into Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Collaborate with Providers: Relay critical patient information to physicians and nursing staff to facilitate rapid clinical decision-making.
- Provide Health Education: Educate patients on self-care, medication management, and preventative health measures.
- Manage High Volume: Maintain composure and efficiency while managing a high volume of incoming calls and inquiries.
Qualifications
- Active RN License: Must hold a current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida.
- Strong Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to make sound clinical decisions based on patient assessment and standard protocols.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
