Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate level of care and disposition
- Utilize EHR systems (EPIC/Cerner) for accurate documentation and communication
- Oversee patient flow in the emergency department while maintaining quality standards
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and NY State Department of Health regulations
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current NYS RN license with unrestricted practice privilege
- Minimum 3 years of ER/urgent care triage experience
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree strongly preferred (ADN with 5+ years experience considered)
- Expertise in rapid assessment and critical decision-making
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure with emotional intelligence
