Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, telehealth, and in-person consultations to determine urgency
- Provide accurate medical guidance and triage recommendations per established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for complex cases
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
- Participate in continuous education and training programs
- Support emergency department overflow and patient flow management
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state eligibility)
- Recent nursing graduate or career-changer with <2 years experience
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
