Responsibilities
- Receive and triage incoming patient calls to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Assess patient symptoms and provide appropriate initial guidance under supervision.
- Coordinate patient referrals to on-call physicians and specialists.
- Document patient interactions and medical histories accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Monitor call queues and manage time efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Stay updated on medical protocols and triage best practices.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; a degree in Nursing or Healthcare is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing speed (minimum 40 wpm).
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
