Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments via telephone and in-person triage to evaluate symptoms and determine appropriate levels of care.
- Apply clinical protocols and critical thinking to prioritize patient needs and facilitate timely referrals to physicians or specialists.
- Document all triage encounters accurately and completely in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient continuity.
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education regarding symptoms, medications, and self-care instructions.
- Monitor patient outcomes and escalations to ensure quality assurance and risk management.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent nursing experience in a clinical setting (ER, Urgent Care, or Triage).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Ability to work independently while adhering to strict clinical guidelines.
