Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical triage decisions for ER patients of all age groups
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for care coordination
- Utilize Epic EMR systems for accurate documentation and communication
- Provide telehealth triage support during off-peak hours
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and Alaska State Board regulations
- Mentor new nurses during paid training rotations
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years ER or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment skills in pediatric/adult populations
- Experience with electronic triage systems (e.g., TriageLogic)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills during high-stress situations
