Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone triage to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Utilize Epic EHR systems to document patient encounters and prioritize cases
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients experiencing health emergencies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and emergency department protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Train new staff on triage procedures and department standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Missouri (or compact state)
- BSN preferred or equivalent experience
- 1+ years acute care nursing experience (ED experience preferred)
- ACLS/BLS certifications (required within 30 days of hire)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
