Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical supplies and equipment before/after procedures to ensure accuracy
- Transport patients and position them correctly for surgical interventions
- Monitor sterile environments and implement infection control protocols
- Document procedural details and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Clean and sterilize instruments following established safety standards
Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program certification required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
- Minimum 1 year of scrub tech experience in OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
