Responsibilities
- Assess patient calls using standardized triage protocols to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide expert clinical guidance to patients over phone and in-person triage settings
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care pathways
- Document patient interactions accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Manage high-pressure situations with calm professionalism during critical patient encounters
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia with minimum 2 years clinical experience
- BLS/ACLS certification and current CPR credentials
- Proven expertise in emergency department or urgent care triage protocols
- Exceptional assessment skills for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for patient education
- EMR proficiency (Epic or Cerner preferred)
