Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patient acuity using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI)
- Accurately document patient histories and vital signs in EMR systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for patient flow
- Provide clear patient education and discharge instructions
- Manage high-volume emergency department admissions
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and hospital protocols
- Mentor new staff and maintain departmental standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong triage assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-stress environments
