Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care
- Utilize clinical judgment to identify emergent conditions and activate appropriate interventions
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient flow
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families during critical moments
- Monitor vital signs and symptoms to detect subtle changes requiring escalation
- Maintain triage protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active DC RN license with unrestricted privileges
- Minimum 3 years ED/urgent care triage experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic or Cerner EHR systems
- Exceptional critical thinking under pressure
- Master's degree in Nursing or relevant specialty preferred
- Experience with pediatric/adult triage protocols
