Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive phone and secure messaging triage assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate level of care.
- Care Prioritization: Utilize clinical decision-making skills to triage patients effectively, distinguishing between urgent, emergent, and non-urgent conditions.
- Documentation: Accurately and timely document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaboration: Communicate patient findings and care recommendations clearly to physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Health Education: Provide clear instructions on medication management, self-care, and follow-up appointments to ensure patient compliance.
- Protocol Adherence: Strictly adhere to clinical protocols, legal guidelines, and company standards during all patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in triage, urgent care, or telehealth preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and telehealth technology platforms.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate situations and convey complex medical information simply.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to assess clinical data rapidly and accurately.
