Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone, video, and in-person consultations to determine medical urgency
- Collaborate with physicians to develop appropriate care pathways and disposition plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation with 99% compliance
- Provide patient education on self-care and when to seek emergency care
- Manage high-volume call queues while maintaining service excellence standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Support emergency department overflow during peak hours
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN license with no disciplinary actions
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in emergency, urgent care, or telehealth settings
- BLS/CPR certification with ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Cerner experience a plus)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated empathy in high-stress situations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- BSN degree required (MSN preferred)
