Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Status: Observe and report changes in patient health conditions to the nursing staff immediately.
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Support: Remind patients to take prescribed medications and assist with administration under the supervision of an RN or LPN.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Document Maintenance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and patient logs.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure a clean, safe, and infection-free environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Texas State CNA Certification (CNA 1) required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Prior experience in a clinical or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for urgent hires.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Compassion: A genuine, patient-centered approach to care and empathy.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as required by the job duties.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
