Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely in and out of bed or wheelchairs using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and ensure they take prescribed medications as directed by the nursing staff.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, changes in condition, and concerns to RNs and LPNs.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for all patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with feeding and ensure they are well-hydrated throughout their shift.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current, valid state licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in California.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet patient needs.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping patients and a compassionate demeanor towards the elderly and disabled.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
