Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and nurses in examining and treating patients, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and preparing patients for examination.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage patient intake, update medical records, and handle insurance verification with accuracy and efficiency.
- Procedures: Perform basic clinical duties such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and administering injections as directed by the provider.
- Communication: Clearly communicate instructions to patients and provide exceptional customer service to all visitors.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all healthcare regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and facility protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized examination room and waiting area.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing program (CMA, RMA, or RN preferred).
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting is highly preferred; new graduates are considered.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Availability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by the department.
