Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating to ensure their personal hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by the nursing staff.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Maintain a clean, sanitized environment and utilize proper body mechanics when transferring or moving patients to prevent injury.
- Document Patient Status: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and report any changes in a patient's condition, behavior, or mood immediately to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Provide Emotional Support: Offer companionship and a compassionate presence to patients and their families during their stay.
- Assist with Mobility: Use wheelchairs, walkers, and hoyer lifts safely to assist patients with mobility.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current, unencumbered Florida CNA license is required.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and willing to work flexible shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for the healthcare field and a desire to serve the community.
