Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescribed medications, including sterile compounding, following all state and federal regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies to prevent shortages.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage and appropriateness, consulting with pharmacists when necessary.
- Process insurance claims and handle patient inquiries with a focus on exceptional customer service.
- Assist in the maintenance of a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to sit for the PTCB/ExCPT exam.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in pharmacy technology preferred.
- Strong understanding of pharmacy terminology, dosage forms, and medication safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
