Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on patient care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and patient observations.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment.
- Document all care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient conditions in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, patients, and families to ensure a continuum of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the RN or Physician within scope of practice.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent accidents and infection.
Qualifications
- Current and valid State of New Mexico CNA Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Previous experience in long-term care or a hospital setting is highly preferred.
- Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety and hygiene.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
