Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and triage calls to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care and referrals
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families during stressful situations
- Monitor and prioritize incoming patient requests based on clinical urgency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Support emergency department overflow and urgent care coordination
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Jersey (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-volume environments
- Spanish bilingualism strongly preferred
- BSN or higher degree preferred
