Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after operations
- Transport patients to/from surgical suites and monitor vital signs
- Document surgical cases accurately in electronic health records
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for patient readiness
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification with current expiration date
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
