Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and report abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist licensed nurses with wound care, catheter care, and feeding assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license in the District of Columbia.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association).
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required for immediate hires.
