Responsibilities
- Monitor patients' vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic health records.
- Move and transfer patients safely using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and surgeries under the supervision of registered nurses.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required, valid in the state of Georgia.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented demeanor.
