Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, vital signs, and behavior to the nursing staff.
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Support the administration of medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs.
- Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Texas CNA License required.
- CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help patients and families during their time of need.
