Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance, to residents in a compassionate manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and reactions to medications in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and families regarding patient needs and updates.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, organized patient room environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active and in good standing with the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
