Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic adjustments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction management, and patient positioning
- Execute sterilization protocols for all reusable instruments per CDC guidelines
- Manage digital radiography systems and intraoral imaging for accurate diagnostics
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary materials and equipment setup
- Provide patient education on post-procedure care and oral hygiene techniques
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and inventory management
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (CDA or DANB preferred)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-rays) and practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (must maintain current)
- Knowledge of OSHA infection control standards
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in high-volume environment
- Positive attitude and commitment to patient comfort
