Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Sterilize equipment and maintain strict infection control protocols
- Take dental impressions and prepare diagnostic materials
- Manage patient scheduling and digital chart documentation
- Provide chairside assistance with expanded functions (e.g., coronal polishing)
- Train new staff on practice systems and procedures
- Order inventory and manage dental supply chain
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- X-ray certification and radiography proficiency
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and dental software (e.g., Dentrix)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure scenarios
- Valid New York State dental radiography permit
