Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments
- Perform chairside support with four-handed dentistry techniques and instrument transfer
- Take and develop accurate dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging systems
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilize instruments per OSHA standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for efficient clinical workflows
- Take accurate patient medical histories and vital signs before procedures
- Provide post-operative instructions and address patient concerns with empathy
- Maintain digital patient records using Eaglesoft practice management software
Qualifications
- Current Kansas Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry practice
- Proficiency in digital radiography (Dexis/Sirona preferred)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR/BLS certification and HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
