Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, extractions, and root canals
- Perform sterilization and infection control protocols per OSHA standards
- Take accurate dental radiographs and develop high-quality diagnostic images
- Manage patient flow, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain inventory
- Deliver exceptional patient education on oral hygiene and treatment plans
- Document clinical notes accurately in digital practice management software
- Coordinate with labs for prosthetic orders and case tracking
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography (X-ray) and sterilization techniques
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy protocols
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix practice management software
- Valid New York State dental radiography license
