Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Administer medications, injections, and perform EKGs and phlebotomy as directed
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle insurance verification
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medication protocols
- Assist with sterilization of equipment and inventory management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical software (Epic, NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, infection control, and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse patients
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- BLS/CPR certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
