Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by reviewing medical history and explaining procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
  • Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) accurately and document results in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist providers during clinical examinations, procedures, and minor office surgeries.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine analysis and blood draws, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently, including scheduling appointments and handling check-in/check-out processes.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, diets, and post-care instructions.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
