Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, including vital sign measurement and medical history documentation
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and diagnostic tests
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Epic systems
- Coordinate patient flow and manage appointment scheduling
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Perform laboratory specimen collection and processing
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (AAMA, NCMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems with Epic preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced emergency environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- North Carolina state MA license (or ability to obtain immediately)
