Responsibilities
- Perform Clinical Duties: Accurately measure and record vital signs, administer injections, and perform basic lab tests under the supervision of a licensed provider.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, update medical records, and prepare them for examinations to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, process insurance claims, and maintain organized filing systems for both digital and physical records.
- Medication Management: Assist in medication reconciliation and ensure all medications are accurately dispensed according to physician orders.
- Health Education: Educate patients on preventative care, disease management, and medication instructions to promote better health outcomes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Sanitize examination rooms and medical equipment to adhere to strict infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must hold a current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
