Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories accurately
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures including injections, wound care, and EKGs
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain patient confidentiality
- Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and process laboratory tests
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verifications, and manage front desk operations
- Administer medications under physician supervision and provide patient education
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a fast-paced medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or Athena preferred)
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy skills required
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-pressure situations
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
